THE PHOENIX COLLECTION
DALB’s newest collection, The Phoenix, has a powerful message meant to spread a new light on this pandemic situation which has irremediably changed everyone’s lives. DALB’s Creative Director has found her inspiration in the legend of the phoenix. Ancient legends paint a picture of this magical bird, radiant and shimmering, which lives for several hundred years before it dies by bursting into flames. It is then reborn from the ashes, to start a new, long life.
A new life is what is being offered to us now, in a completely and deeply changed world. As we know nothing is going to be the same, we are experiencing a new ‘normal’. The best we can do is switch perspectives and take the opportunity to redefine ourselves, spread our wings and dare to fly again. After the world stopped during lockdown, it’s high time we started a new life, with new boundaries, as beautiful as we can make it.
DALB’s The Phoenix comes with vibrant and energizing colours and cuts, meant to inspire and give us energy for a fresh start. Particularly hope-inducing are the shades of the generous and revitalizing green, from mint to pesto, with an optimistic boost from the warm and enthusiastic orange. Flowing, natural fabrics and loose cuts are meant to make the pieces not only fashionable, but also comfortable, encouraging women to re-discover the joy of dressing up. Wings shapes are featured in almost every piece of the collection, as a reference to the phoenix. One of the signature pieces of the brand, the poplin shirt, is reinterpreted with surprizing details, as double or split collars and asymmetric sleeves. From separates, such as tops and palazzo pants, to flowing dresses, each piece in the collection is meant to make us feel life is normal again.
